Conan O’Brien’s mother has died just three days after his father passed away.
The 61-year-old TV presenter was heartbroken after his father Thomas O’Brien died on Monday at the age of 95. He suffered a double blow on Thursday when his mother, Ruth Reardon O’Brien, died at the age of 92 at her home in Brookline, Massachusetts. ,
The news was confirmed in an obituary for Ruth, which read: “Ruth Reardon of O’Brien, Brooklyn, died peacefully on December 12, 2024, at the age of 92. Sixty-Six of Thomas Francis O’Brien MD Beloved wife of Sal, who passed away on December 9, 2024.”

Conan paid tribute to his father in an interview with The Boston Globe published Thursday, saying: “Science said there was no such thing as perpetual motion, but my father was proof that was wrong.
“My father was in constant motion. And he was interested in everything – absolutely everything… The loudest I heard anyone laugh was when he was sitting next to him in the theater watching Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movie… He was often in the room Was the funniest guy. And when he laughed, his whole body would convulse and he would almost hug himself.
“For the rest of my time on earth, I will continue to hear from people who want to talk to me about my Father. I’ve never met anyone like him, and he’s my father.
“If I happened to meet him in a hotel lobby, I’d think, ‘Who the hell is this guy? He’s the most interesting person I’ve ever met.'”
Conan’s parents will be remembered at a joint funeral in Boston on Wednesday.
