One of the most notorious cult leaders and criminals in American history will be the subject of a new three-part documentary series that will “offer a unique look inside the mind of a notorious serial killer.”
Charles Manson was Infamous cult leader whose “Manson Family” committed the gruesome murders of Sharon Tate and others in 1969 to incite a race war.
Joe Berlinger is directing the new series, with executive producers and showrunners Rachel Profilowski and Axel Gerdau as well as story producer Charlie Cook. Production on the series kicks off in the first half of 2024, and Netflix has yet to confirm a release date for the series.
Netflix has previously featured Manson in some of its other titles. The iconic figure was one of the subjects covered in a 2023 docu-series How to become a cult leader? (particularly episode 1), which was released in 2023 and narrated by Peter Dinklage. Manson was also featured in a scripted series produced by David Fincher Mindhunter,
As reported, this is the fourth case Conversation with a killer Limited docu-series coming to Netflix, a “franchise” starting in 2019 and two more entries in 2022. Past subjects included Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer (released alongside that series) Dahmer series by Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy), and John Wayne Gacy (reportedly the subject of Season 3). DemonEach series examines the crimes and legacies of the criminals, using interviews with them and rare recording tapes.
