James Gunn fans should be incredibly happy right now, as it has recently been confirmed that Creature Commando has been renewed for Season 2.
The HBO Max series is an adult comedy that premiered earlier this month. This was the first DC project under the guidance of James Gunn, so obviously everyone had high expectations for the series. The show was really good and was like Peacemaker in terms of storytelling.

DC fans loved Creature Commando and the quirky characters featured on the show. This is probably why HBO Max decided to renew the series without making fans wait too long. This is a huge win for James Gunn and the show’s success proves that the future of the DC Universe is in good hands.
However, it’s important to note that even though the second season was recently announced, neither the network nor James Gunn have revealed anything about a release date. Given the number of projects in production under the DCU, it’s safe to say that the show won’t be returning to our screens before 2026. Production will take at least a year and probably longer, especially if James Gunn will be involved in the direction.

Regardless, if you’re one of those DC fans who hasn’t seen Creature Commando because you don’t believe, then maybe it’s time to check out the series. The fact that the series has been renewed for Season 2 proves that fans have loved it. Also, you should know that Creature Commando starts where the story of Peacemaker ends. So, before jumping into Creature Commando, make sure you check out Peacemaker and of course, Guns Suicide Squad, if you haven’t seen it already.
Like Suicide Squad, the series features Amanda Waller forming a team of misfits to deal with world-ending threats. The premise may sound similar to Suicide Squad, but the overall narrative is quite different from what we’ve seen from James Gunn before.
