Zach Gilford is on the mend after a scary incident.
The 42-year-old actor posted three stunning selfies of himself instagram story On Tuesday, he showed his face completely swollen as he detailed his recovery stage.
Gilford did not reveal what caused the swelling but thanked those who helped him treat the problem.
In the first selfie, “Criminal Minds” star The eyelids had grown large, his left eye had swelled and was completely closed.
“Very good…yesterday was fun,” Gilford Captioned the post.
A follow-up photo showed the “Friday Night Lights” alum wearing a blue face mask as the swelling around her eyes grew and reached her cheek and brow bones.
“Good thing we wrapped up @criminalminds last week,” she wrote beneath the shocking photo.
In his third and final post, Gilford showed progress and revealed that he can open both eyes once the swelling goes down.
The actor thanked those who helped him deal with the scare, writing, “Thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff at @huntingtonhospital for bringing my face back to normal.”
Despite not disclosing his treatment method, Gilford said that “there’s still some way to go.”

In August, Gilford revealed that he only got to appear in the first season before being asked to continue the role.

Along with a regular role, “Criminal Minds” also marks Gilford’s first time in the director’s chair.
“I always wanted to direct. I threw shade on ‘Friday Night Lights,'” he gushed. “I’ve been shadowed in almost every show I’ve been on. “It’s very hard to get that opportunity.”
Gilford added, “I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. And it was inspiring to me when I got the chance to direct my own episode because Erica and everyone were just saying, ‘Make your episode. do whatever you want. It was a good one. it was so fun.”
The “Good Girls” alum also took time to reflect on how lucky he was to be a part of the CBS process.
“Everyone who’s been on that set says, ‘This is the best set I’ve ever been on,'” Gilford told the outlet. “It’s so much fun to work with my friends and they really are the best group of people. “Then, putting that aside, our crew is amazing.”
“They’re very nerdy, they’re very nice, they’re very funny, they’re very cool and very good at what they do. I’m grateful to be on set [where] That’s the vibe. It all comes from showrunner Erica Messer,” he said.
The third season of Criminal Minds: Evolution is expected to premiere on Paramount+ in early 2025.
