PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick is stepping up his campaign with a new campaign Advertisement released on Tuesday The article takes aim at his rival, Senator Bob Casey, and links him to the stance of Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party's flag-bearer, on fracking in the energy-rich, industry-dependent state.
The ad is set in a bar and begins with a clip of Harris' infamous “There's no doubt that I'm in favor of banning fracking” statement from 2019 and then goes on to claim that a fracking ban would eliminate 330,640 energy jobs.
It shows Pennsylvania jobs and workers disappearing from the screen, and then shows McCormick sitting at the now-empty bar.
“Hardworking people like truck drivers, mechanics, even bartenders,” McCormick says, while the workers disappear behind them.
“And what has Bob Casey said about Kamala?” he asks, before the ad shows viewers this.
“People know he's ready to do this job right now,” Casey said on a TV at the bar where the ad is shown.
“Very weak,” McCormick replies indifferently.
This is the second time this month that McCormick has targeted Casey as “weak” — the second time this happened Advertisement from earlier this month In which Blair County Sheriff Jim Ott talked about the fentanyl issue spreading through Pennsylvania communities, which led to the overdose death of his own son.
“If the border were secure, chances are my son would be alive today,” Ott says in the McCormick ad.
