Dawson's Creek and Stargate SG-1 actor Obi Ndefo has died at the age of 51.
The actor’s sister, Nkem Ndefo, announced the news in a statement. post to Facebook Of myself and my late brother.

He did not disclose the cause of death.
“So sad to lose my little brother, and so happy to know he is now at peace,” he wrote Sunday.
His death came five years after he lost both legs in a hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles when he was struck by a drunk driver while visiting Erewhon Market in 2019.
Best known for playing chef Bodie Wells in Dawson's Creek, Ndefo reprised the character in seasons one, three, four and six.
Her co-star in Dawson's Creek, Mary-Margaret Humes, who played Gail Leery, also shared a video on Instagram, giving a glimpse into her life on the set of Dawson's Creek.
“These words do not come easily. It is hard for me to imagine you leaving us, my dear friend,” she said.
“You have always been and always will be a bright shining light. What a wonderful example of pure, unconditional love and perseverance you have set in the face of life’s challenges recently.
“I will treasure all our messages of love and support to each other over the years. Rest in peace, sweet warrior.”
Others also paid tribute.
One person said, “After the accident I always told people his courageous story. He was an inspiration to me.”
“I'm so sorry to hear this. He will always be Bodie to so many of us. Rest in peace, our friend,” another said.
After the accident in 2019, Ndefo recalled the horrifying day in an interview.

Ndefo underwent various surgeries and shared details of his rehabilitation on social media.
After the accident, besides being an actor, he continued working as a yoga instructor.
