*SPOILERS ALERT* Marvel Studios’ dry spell — post the mammoth box office success of Avengers: Endgame — is most likely to reach its endgame *all the pun intended* thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine. With Disney’s acquisition of Fox Studios, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) are the two Marvel superheroes that MCU fans eagerly awaited to see on the big screen.
Deadpool 3 had been in the works for years, but the addition of Hugh Jackman’s beloved superhero to the mix seemed astonishing to most. Especially with the heartbreaking send-off we got in Logan. However, MCU’s unboxing of the multiverse more than enables Wolverine (multiple variants, that too!) to return, angrier than ever. I mean, can you blame him? Imagine having to save the world with the foul-mouthed, fourth-wall-breaking Deadpool by your side?!
Deadpool & Wolverine ending explained — Is Deadpool (along with Wolverine) able to save his timeline Earth-10005?
To catch you up to speed on Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool (alongside a very reluctant Wolverine) is on a mission to save his timeline Earth-10005, including all his loved ones, from extinction. Paradox (Matthew Macfayden), an evil TVA agent, is on a rampage to mercy kill Earth-10005 using a time ripper, but without permission from the higher-ups.
After an emotional exchange between Wolverine and Nova (Emma Corrin), a mutant and Charles Xavier’s twin sister, the latter uses Doctor Strange’s sling ring to open a portal for Deadpool and Wolverine to travel to Earth-10005. Wilson and Logan are immediately met with a formidable opposition: the Deadpool Corps, a rag-tag army of Deadpool variants from different timelines. A gory battle commences as the bickering bros fight off multiple Deadpools, including Lady Deadpool (Blake Lively, nope, not Taylor Swift!).
