Dem Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell worries she’ll be put in ‘internment camp’ if Trump wins

Dame Michigan Representative Debbie Dingell On Monday there was open outrage over whether he could be thrown into an internment camp with Muslims and Arabs donald trump The White House wins.

Dingell, 70, was clearly distraught as she made the astonishing allegation, without any evidence, that the former president was planning to “start internment camps” and fill them with Arabs and Muslims as well as political rivals like him .

“The Arab American community needs to be reminded and cannot forget that he wants to ban Muslims. He wants to deport Muslims, and he wants to start internment camps. And we are busy talking to every voter about the same. He’s telling you what he’s going to do. Trust him,’Dingell told CNN’s Jake Tapper.Which was also unbelievable.

In 2015, Trump simply called for “stopping Muslims coming into the United States” until authorities can “figure out what’s going on”, in the context of investigating their possible criminal ties. Considering that some of their countries are centers of terrorism.

As president, he also took executive action to restrict travel from several Muslim-majority countries, but that was struck down in court.

Dame Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell claimed to CNN host Jake Tapper on Monday that she fears Donald Trump will put her and other political rivals in an “internment camp” if he wins. cnn

Trump campaign spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt described Dingell’s comments as “completely absurd.”

Even Tapper was surprised by the Congresswoman’s shocking allegation.

“Concentration camp?” He asked him.

“Yeah. (Trump) has talked about concentration camps,” Dingell retorted. “You might have to come see me one time. When he talks about what he’s going to do to his political enemies. I would be quite concerned, but he has talked about it with different groups of people.

In Trump’s current bid to reclaim the White House, he has vowed to round up illegal immigrants and deport them from the US if he wins. At times, he has also made vague pledges to prosecute “those involved in dishonest practices”.

In 2016, he promised to appoint a prosecutor to take on his then-opponent Hillary Clinton. Ultimately, he never succeeded.

Tapper pressed the congressman, saying, “I’ve heard (Trump) talking about rounding up undocumented immigrants and obviously, you’re going to need some type of camp for that. But what do you mean by concentration camps for Muslims and Arabs?”

Dingell claimed that Trump “has talked about this in different audiences” but that she did not have “the exact quote right” during the interview.

Dingell’s office did not respond to Post requests for comment Tuesday.

Democrats and many Trump critics are making inflammatory statements about the former president.

In recent weeks, critics have pointed to Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, who have suggested he is a “fascist”.

Trump’s opponent for the presidency, Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris, was asked during a CNN town hall last week if she thought Trump is a fascist, and she replied, “Yes, I do.”

Harris claimed that if Trump wins, he will “serve as a president who praises dictators and is a fascist.”

Throughout Harris’s campaign, both she and President Biden have portrayed Trump as a threat to democracy and emphasized his failed efforts to overturn the 2020 election, which he lost.

Trump has hit back by calling Harris a fascist and a “radical Marxist.”

Yet, recently, Trump urged his supporters After “Be Nice” they chanted, “Lock him up!”

Dingell, who took her late husband John’s seat when he retired in 2015, has long warned that it is too close to predict which presidential candidate will win next Tuesday in her key home state of Michigan.

Michigan has one of the largest Arab American populations in the country. More than 100,000 Democratic primary-race voters marked themselves as uncommitted during the primary earlier this year in protest of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

Some polls have shown Trump making significant gains among Arab American voters this election cycle, dealing a blow to Democrats.
