nobody puts Baby in a corner.
Residents of the village of Rochdale, England, are terrified by the installation of a giant baby doll in the town square, with some terrified pedestrians describing the installation as “creepy.”
The 27-foot-tall toy baby, named Lily, has giant moveable limbs and a mouth that opens and closes like an oversized Pinocchio. The BBC reported.
The doll was installed as part of a new campaign encouraging school children to talk about the importance of the environment.
School groups will reportedly talk to Lily about her plans to care for animals and nature.
In a video posted on Rochdale Borough Council Facebook pageThe video shows a group of schoolchildren singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” to a giant doll.
But while young people didn't appear intimidated by the toy, some adult residents were far more fearful.
One passerby told the BBC: “I came around the corner and I thought, 'This is scary even with your eyes closed, more so with them open.'”
Another claimed they had “never seen anything like it in Rochdale before”, while another viewer dubbed the doll the “ugliest baby girl I've ever seen”.
A third compared the baby to the 1990 sci-fi comedy “Honey I Shrunk the Kids.”
Lily also sent shivers down the spine of Facebook users, one of whom described the doll as “demonic”.
Some said she reminded them of the animatronic puppet that oversees fatal events Red light, green light Game in the hit Korean horror series “Squid Game.”
It's unclear when Lily will be removed from downtown Rochdale, but according to the BBC, the plan is to keep the doll on display until at least October 29.
