This fashion designer wants to stuff your pants.
Chad Najam Thanks to its quirky designs, it is gaining followers in the online fashion world.
Najam, a 22-year-old Virginian who runs the Le Rêve Najam brand, took perfectly good, wearable pants and sewed at least 200 stuffed animals onto the legs.
“In fashion, a lot of things are boring,” Nazam told new York Times“I’m able to do what I want and be a small idle player in the industry.”
And her $650 stuffed animal pants are definitely No boring.
“A lot of people wear the same clothes,” Nazem said, adding that he wants people to look at his clothes and think, “Wait, can I wear that?”
The Beanie Baby-like pants come with four pockets and weigh five pounds, according to product listing,
But there’s no need to contact Build-A-Bear to make the pants—they’re hand-sewn by a team of sewers, including Nazem’s 79-year-old grandmother.
If you’re worried about how you’ll fit into Bear Poof-Up pants, don’t worry: The stuffed animals are only on the front.
Additionally, the ZooZoo can serve as a mattress if you fall.
“You can jump on your knees and you won’t feel anything,” Nazam claimed.
And as is the case with many bizarre fashion trends, celebrities are getting in on it.
Wrestler Jade Cargill, Thai actress Araya Alberta Hargett and K-pop rapper BamBam have all worn Nazam’s fuzzy bottoms, which they say didn’t send them to them for free.
Just a few weeks ago, DK Metcalf, a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, wore stuffy pants On game days, that got people talking.
“Everyone loves a good conversation piece, right?” Dallas-based stylist Danny Hill, who began working with Metcalf last season, told the Times.
According to Hill, Metcalf already owned the jeans, but admitted that he never wore them. She chose to wear them coming out of the tunnel on game day because “you’re looking for something that’ll make the eyes sparkle.”
After seeing a football player wearing the fabulous pants, Jason Bitton, a 35-year-old entrepreneur in Toronto, bought the pants and wore them on the court at a Toronto Raptors game — and all eyes were on him.
“I was stopped for maybe eight or nine photos,” he told the Times. As a bonus, Bitton’s 5-year-old daughter loved them, too.
“She was asking about different people,” Bitton shared. “She was counting them at one point.”
Football players and entrepreneurs with courtside seats are the people most likely to wear these eye-catching pants. “Whoever is going to buy these is not just going to Walmart,” Nazem said.
However, this has not limited its customer base.
The stuffed animal pants have been on sale since April, and Najam said he’s sold hundreds of pairs last year — and there may soon be enough demand to outstrip production.
Although Nazem’s teddy bear pants are the hottest thing on the internet, he wasn’t the first to come up with the idea.
A 27-year-old clothing designer in Las Vegas has been sewing tiny stuffed animals onto pants since 2022.
