A “devastated” newscaster in Arizona cried during a live broadcast Monday to announce the sudden death of her “beloved” co-worker.
Anna Orsini, morning anchor for Tucson-based CBS affiliate 13 News, died last week at the age of 28 after suffering a brain aneurysm. According to Cold-TV,
The broadcaster’s colleagues, Tyler Butler and Karsyn Currier, announced his death during an emotional newscast on Monday.
“Ana was at 13 News through June 2023 and we are devastated by this loss,” Currier shared with a trembling voice and tears in her eyes.
Butler gently touched Currier’s hand to console her, as she continued to tell the audience that they were both wearing pink on Monday in honor of Orsini, who was her deceased colleague’s apparent favorite.
Helping the distraught currier, Butler delivers his touching tribute to Orsini.
“We got to work with her every day and we want you to know that what you saw with her on-air was just how funny and crazy a person she was — she was the same way off camera and even more,” he said. More.”
After the heartbreaking news was revealed to the public, the station aired a highlight reel of Orsini’s short but “special” time at the station.
The reel featured clips of Orsini’s first time at the anchor desk, her love of dogs, and how she playfully interacted with co-hosts on air and during live reports.
His morning co-anchors who worked with the daily newspaper also shared personal tributes on their social media pages.
“Waking up in the middle of the night to go to work is always challenging, but knowing I was going to work with Ana made it a lot easier,” Currier wrote. His Instagram page. “Whether she was dancing on set or making us all laugh, every day with Anna was an adventure.”

Orsini’s first job in television was as an anchor and reporter in Lubbock, Texas, then she spent three years as a morning and afternoon anchor in Medford, Oregon, before coming to KOLD-TV last June.
