A car was crushed by a westbound Long Island Rail Road train passing through Central Islip early Saturday morning.
According to the MTA, the crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. near Lowell and East Suffolk avenues.
horrific images Captured by ABC 7 Show that the damaged car was nearly flattened by the impact.
A male passenger in the car somehow survived the horrific wreck – he was arrested and taken to hospital. The MTA could not confirm what charges he faces or the extent of his injuries.
Fortunately, no one aboard the morning train was injured.
The MTA is working to determine what caused the collision.
