Sorry Android users – this is for iPhone owners only.
Who among us doesn’t get it? Traveling to the airport is a stressful process – From finding a gate to wondering if you’re in the right luggage carousel, or staying updated about flight delays or early arrivals.
Well then, good news from former airline employee Darby Maloney @durbinmalonster on TikTok, which has just revealed a travel hack for Apple users that can make any trip easier.
“I’ll never have to look at a screen at the airport again,” Maloney, 28, teased her social media followers. “This is the biggest hack ever and I think no one knows about it.”
In the revived clip, Over 25 million viewsMaloney explains how she uses the hack when she’s ready to go to the jetway.
Whenever the content creator travels, she texts herself and her family the flight numbers on the morning of departure.
Once the message appears on any iPhone, you can click on the hyperlinked number and select “Preview Flight.” It will then display real-time updates of your flight with details on your baggage claim carousel. And that’s all.
“You can just click on your link and know what your gate is, so when you get off the plane — boom, you’re at your connection,” Maloney said.
You can also see updates on gate changes and departure or arrival times. Although you can get the same information from the airline’s mobile app, some users prefer the text method because it’s easier to access.
Maloney, “I use it most when someone is picking me up.” Said In a follow-up TikTok video. “I’m not going to ask them to download the app… I’m just going to send them the link.”
Unfortunately, this hack can only be used by iPhone users. However, if you are an Android user, you can type your flight number in the Google search bar to get real-time updates.
Many TikTokers were stunned by this hidden hack that could save them a lot of stress and headache.
“I never knew this! This makes my Type-A airport so happy,” one person commented.
“I was told by airport staff that the link is updated before the screen,” another confessed.
“United does this automatically for you. It stays at the top of the screen on your phone (even in other apps). We want to fly United all the time,” added one frequent flyer.
“Thanks for this tip! I fly a lot and this will be very helpful!” A passenger jumped up.
