Emma Stone publicly labelled friend Taylor Swift “an a******” following her win for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy at the 81st Golden Globes.
The 35-year-old star of Poor Things was backstage talking to the press when she was asked why Swift gave her a standing ovation when her win was announced.
Jokingly Stone told reporters, “What an a******, am I right?”

“I’ve known her for almost 20 years, so I’m very happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight, so I’m very happy she was there — but what an a******,” Stone teased.
Swift, whose concert film was nominated for the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award lost out to Margot Robbie’s Barbie win, but was delighted with Stone’s win.
Fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence could also be seen clapping for her close friend and mouthed “oh my God” when Stone’s name was announced.
Swift and Stone have been firm friends for years and earlier this month she spoke about how they met.
On The Graham Norton Show. Stone said she and Swift first connected “at the Young Hollywood Awards when (Swift) was 18 in LA. We just kept in touch ever since and became great friends”.
Stone attended Swift’s Eras Tour last year and revealed how much she had loved seeing her friend perform.
“The concert was pretty amazing,” Stone told Vanity Fair . “I was lucky ‘cause we’ve been friends for a really long time. I’ve known her since we were 17 and 18, so she hooked me up, which was very nice ‘cause I know those tickets are impossible to get.
“She’s a wonderful friend. She blows my mind. I mean, the amount of sheer stamina to do three and a half hours and perform 44 songs and to maintain the extreme energy of the audience —I’ve never seen anything like it.”
