Kochi joined on Thursday larry emdur And kylie gillies But The Morning ShowTalking about what viewers can expect from the new series.
Kochi said, “A key feature of each episode is Kochi's budget challenge, where the audience challenges me to make savings from their household bills.”
“So they send in all the household bills and compare the markets, study them all, and we figure out how much we can save you.”
Cocchi said that last season he managed to save a woman $11,000 a year after telling her she had a terrible mortgage that had a “seven” in the front, meaning she could get a better deal.
“This year, families have become a lot more savvy, and some of them have tried to pick me up because they think they're savvy with their bills and they go, OK, Coach, you come in. I'm sure you can't find anything.
“We only got $700, but still, it's a big savings (for the average family).”
He said there could be big savings on insurance policies and energy bills.
“You never automatically renew the insurance policy every year, you always go and check. Energy bills too. You may find a great plan with great incentives and discounts.
“Usually they only last a year, and then you go back to the default rate or something in your car insurance and home and contents insurance, you'll get your bill, and they'll say, this is the premium.”
Kochi cautioned that it is always worth calling companies or inquiring online about cheaper deals.
Then the beloved presenter turned his attention to his mother, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Kochi shared several pictures from the event.
“It was fantastic – the whole family was together,” Kochi said.
“I said to her, 'Mom, what's one thing you've never done or don't want to do?' And he said, 'I have never danced on the table during a party.' Surrounded by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and children, she did just that.
“There were 48 of us in this party. That was the thing, we all had to dress up as a different era. She is the de facto matriarch of the family. It was great.”
Season two of Your Money, Your Life premieres on 7 & 7plus 2pm, Thursday 26 September.
