Media Take Out just received some blockbuster news, surrounding the sh**ting that occurred outside of Drake’s Toronto mansion.
According to folks close to Drake’s team, the shooter was captured on video surveillance footage, and is being described as a “White male.” We expect this information to be released later today by Toronto police.
And there’s more. We’re told that police suspect that the man may be a “crazed Kendrick Lamar fan.”
Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been locked in a bitter rap battle for the past month. Over the weekend, Kendrick dropped a series of diss tracks.
In one track, Not Like Us, Kendrick leaked Drake’s address and suggested that Drake was conducted per***ilic activities inside his Toronto mansion.
Media Take Out investigated Kendrick’s claim, and came to the conclusion that Kendrick’s assertions was part of a baseless conspiracy theory.
And that baseless conspiracy theory, may according to police, have motivated a “crazed” Kendrick fan to shoot up Drake’s Toronto mansion.
And the situation is serious. Media Take Out confirmed that one of the security agents working at Drake’s home was shot in the chest. His condition has taken a turn for the worse, and the man is fighting for his life.
We’re told that Drake and his team are fully cooperating with the investigation.
It’s not clear whether Kendrick will face legal consequences for peddling a dangerous conspiracy theory yet. But he could face substantial civil penalties – from the man who was shot – if he or his family chooses to sue.
This case is strikingly similar to the “Pizzagate” conspiracy, which began on social media – and ended up with deadly consequences.
A North Carolina man fired an AR-15 rifle inside a pizza restaurant in Washington, D.C., in 2016 as he was “investigating” a baseless conspiracy theory has been sentenced to four years in prison. Luckily no one was injured.
