A family have recreated an old photograph to celebrate their new grandson, the first boy born to their family in 65 years.
Shantel Stone, 27, was seen with four generations of her family in 1997 The latest in a long line of girls.
However, Chantelle has now welcomed a child herself – little Theo Simpson who was born on November 26.
Theo’s arrival marks a milestone for grandmother Lindsay Stone as he is the first child in the family since his brother Kevin in 1959.
Local newspaper the East Anglian Daily Times photographed the family when Chantelle was born and they have recreated the photo with baby Theo.
Lindsay, from Earl Stoneham, Suffolk, said: “I remember when the reporter came to my grandfather’s house in 1997.
“Amanda said, maybe next time we’ll have a boy – and then she had three more girls!”
The 1997 photo shows newborn Chantelle being held by her proud mother Amanda Lee.
Also in the photo are her delighted grandmother Lindsay, great-grandmother Joan Arban and great-grandmother Edith Manning.
Chantel’s great-grandmother Joan has now moved into the top tier.
Now 91, just as her mother was in 1997, she is the matriarch of the family and Theo’s proud great-grandmother.
To mark what would have been Joan’s 91st birthday on Saturday, her family met her at their home in Chiltern Meadows in Stowmarket to celebrate her new arrival.
Mrs Stone said: “It was great.
“He’s a very cool kid, he’s very nice.
“He’s very content, just like his parents.”
She revealed that her sister has also been blessed with a grandson, meaning Theo isn’t the only boy in the family either.
She added: “So, now mom has had two kids – and she’s very happy!”
