Ex-UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter’s home in upstate New York was raided by the FBI as part of a federal investigation, according to reports.
Agents and state police could be seen searching Ritter’s home in Delmar Wednesday afternoon, WNYT reported.
The raid came a day after Ritter, the former chief weapons inspector in Iraq, joined Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in an Albany courtroom for a hearing over whether the independent presidential candidate should be on New York’s November ballot, the Times Union reported.
Ritter recently had his passport seized by the U.S. Department of State as he tried to fly to Russia for a conference, according to the report.
He’s also a sex offender who pleaded guilty in 2011 to having an explicit online chat with a detective who pretended to be a 15-year-old girl.
