Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra initially wanted Amitabh Bachchan to play the role of inspector Inayat Khan in Mission Kashmir. According to the Times of India, Amitabh Bachchan had to decline the offer as he was already set to star in Mohabbatein. Eventually, Sanjay Dutt essayed the role of Inayat in the film that had Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. Interestingly, Mission Kashmir clashed with Mohabbatein at the box office on Diwali as both films were released on 27 October 2000.
5. Qurbani
Qurbani is another blockbuster movie that Amitabh Bachchan said no to. Feroz Khan, who produced, directed and starred in Qurbani, had approached Amitabh Bachchan to play the role of Amar. According to the Times of India, Amitabh Bachchan didn’t have dates at the time because of his busy schedule. Feroz Khan then went ahead and cast Vinod Khanna as Amar.
