The first artwork painted by a humanoid robot – Which was expected to fetch up to $180,000 – The crowd was shocked when it sold for $1.08 million.
Famous auction house Sotheby’s sold the painting in New York on Thursday after 27 bids were placed on the work.

The auction house said, “Today’s record-breaking sale price of the first artwork by a humanoid robot artist to go to auction symbolizes a moment in the history of modern and contemporary art and reflects the growing interconnection between AI technology and the global art market. The robot, known as Ai-Da, created a painting of famous mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing titled “AI God” with its own hydraulically operated hands.
