Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has welcomed a child outside of his marriage and is struggling to regain the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum and his other children.
The rock legend made the shocking revelation in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, September 10.
“I recently became the father of a newborn daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote in a statement.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“We are grateful for your consideration for all the children involved as we move forward together.”
A representative for Grohl told The Post there was no additional comment from the musician at this time.
The 55-year-old former Nirvana drummer married Blum, 48, in a ceremony held at his Los Angeles home on August 2, 2003. The guest list included A-list names like Clive David and Grohl's former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic.
This was Blum's first marriage and Grohl's second. The star was married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood. They divorced in 1997.
Grohl and Blum welcomed their first child, 18-year-old daughter Violet May, in 2006. The couple has two other daughters, Harper Willow, 15, born in 2009, and Ophelia Saint, 10, born in 2014.
The rocker and his wife were recently spotted at Wimbledon in July, sitting in the Royal Box alongside other celebrities like David Beckham.
The family, who rarely appears together in public as a complete unit, stepped out together at the 2023 Grammys and posed on the red carpet.
Blum, a former model and MTV producer, has maintained privacy about her marriage to Grohl over the past several years.
And the rock star has been talking for years about how much his wife means to him.
“Jordan and Violet are the anchors that keep me from disappearing completely,” Grohl explained. The Guardian in 2007.
Grohl also took a different perspective on his career choices after having children.
He said in an interview, “I used to go on tour for nine months of the year. Now I don't like to stay away from my kids for more than 12 days.” Time,
“It's changed everything I do. When you have kids, you look at life differently. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It's inevitable that this carries over into your songwriting.”
Although she has largely stayed out of the limelight since her marriage to Grohl, Bloom has been involved in a few Foo Fighters projects over the years. She appeared in the music video for the band's track “White Limo,” taken from their 2011 album “Wasting Light,” and she also co-directed their 2002 “Walking a Line” video. She was even described as the band's official “documentarian” in a 2003 NME article.
Blum has been an inspiration to Grohl over the years. The Grammy winner shared the Foo Fighters song “Statues” — taken from their sixth studio album “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” — when he spoke with the Foo Fighters. GQ in 2008.
“That song is about my wife and I,” he said. “For me, there's nothing more beautiful than seeing a husband and wife's graves together in a cemetery.”
Grohl has also said that the 2002 song “Burn Away” was inspired by his wife. He explained, “I was in love with my future wife and wanted to do something romantic … a prom ballad.” The A.V. Club in 2006.
