Fortnite chests vary among multiple rarities, and some of them grant you better rewards than normal ones. To increase your chances of better chests, you will have to visit a vault. The vaults are a constant in Fortnite and stay in the game every season. However, with the new season, the vault locations change, and so it did in Chapter 5 Season 2. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Vault Locations
Fortnite still has ten vaults. Unfortunately, some are locked, while others have common loot. In the new season, four usable vaults are scattered around the map. Below, we will mention the locations of these vaults along with a map image reference. Once entered, these are the only vaults that will grant you the rarest of loots.
- Northeast of Rebel’s Roost: Starting from the north side of the map, if you are near the Rebel’s Roost, you can find a vault east of the landmark. This vault is located in a basement near the railroad.
- South of Lavish Lair: Another vault by the railway tracks is located south of Lavish Lair. Once you are south of Lavish Lair, you can find a small station where the vault is located.
- Northeast of Classy Courts: This vault is located at the top of the snowy mountains on the northeast corner of the map. The closest landmark to it is the Classy Courts.
- West of Mount Olympus Area: Among all vault locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, this one is the only one in the southern region. On the west side of the Mount Olympus area, specifically, Brawlers Battleground, find a land area surrounded by water to find this vault.
How to Open Vault in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
Now, you know the locations of the vaults, but what about unlocking them? Do not worry as unlocking the Chapter 5 Season 2 vaults is a piece of cake if you are good with your aim. As the vaults are guarded by NPCs who can only shoot once you are in sight, defeating them and getting the keycard to open the vault should be easy. Here is how to do so:
- First, locate the security cameras around the vault.
- Now, eliminate all the NPCs until you defeat the Commander NPC.
- Once it is defeated, you will get a vault Comms Keycard that you can use on the vault panel to unlock, and you’re done!
