Actor David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller in the iconic 90s film “Friends”, says the biggest regret of his life is turning down the role in “Men in Black”.
“I had just finished shooting my first movie, The Pallbearer, with Gwyneth Paltrow and had a lot of expectations from it that weren't met,” he said during a recent episode of the Cush Jumbo podcast.
Schwimmer added, “It kind of bombed, but expectations were high and the studio, which was Miramax, wanted to give me a three-movie deal at a certain price and I said if I got the chance to direct my first movie I would do it.”
He decided to direct this film instead of Men in Black – which was a global success.
Men in Black grossed $250.6 million in the United States and Canada, and $338.7 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $589.3 million.
“See, I'm really aware, whether it's 20 years later or more, men in Black He said, “If you look at the success of that film and that franchise, my career would have gone in a very different direction.”
