A major food processing company expanded its recall of frozen waffle products due to Listeria risks to include hundreds of breakfast foods found in the supermarket freezer aisle.
TreeHouse Foods, a manufacturer based in Oak Brook, Illinois, recalled “all products manufactured in the same facility and still within their shelf-life.” According to a press release Tuesday,
Nearly 200 newly recalled breakfast items, under brands such as Best Choice and Krusteaz, are sold in major supermarkets including Albertsons, Aldi, Kroger, Publix, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart and Wegmans.
There are no known illnesses associated with the recalled products, Treehouse Foods said.
The company said the recalled frozen foods – including toaster waffles, Belgian waffles and pancakes – were distributed throughout the United States and Canada.

Consumers may have some product sitting in their freezer.
The “best by date” of the recalled products is from October 1, 2024 to October 11, 2025.
Food products usually have barcodes on their packaging that indicate when they were produced and on which factory line the food was produced. TreeHouse Foods advises customers to check their freezer for frozen breakfast products and find the affected product code Listed on their website,
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, Listeria is a serious infection, with the greatest risk to older adults, immunocompromised people, and pregnant women. It can cause fever, pain, headache, stiffness, confusion, loss of balance, cramps and diarrhea, the agency said.
According to experts, the incubation period of the bacteria ranges from three to 70 days.
