Country singer Garth Brooks has responded to a lawsuit filed against him by a former employee by naming him in her counterclaim without his consent.
The woman, identified as Jane Roe in her lawsuit, says she was employed as a hair and makeup artist and that in May 2019, she flew Brooks to Los Angeles to tape Sam Moore’s Grammy tribute performance. Had taken flight. When they arrived at the hotel, Roe says she was “shocked” when she was told she did not have her own room and would have to share with Brooks.
Roe alleges that Brooks repeatedly exposed his genitals and buttocks, talked about sex, and shared sexual fantasies with Roe. He would change his clothes in front of her and also send her graphic text messages.
Brooks sued Roe on October 3, accusing him of extortion and attempting to defame him. She denied the allegations but in her recent amendment, she used her name and also dismissed her accuser by naming him.
“Garth Brooks has just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a rape victim, the alleged victim’s lawyers said in a statement. “Without any legal justification, Brooks singled him out because he feels the laws don’t apply to him. On behalf of our client, we will immediately pursue maximum sanctions against him.
They have filed a motion seeking an emergency seal or amendment to her name. Her lawyers are also demanding the judge to punish the country singer.
