Earlier this year, when Gemini replaced Google Assistant On most phones, it wasn’t as intuitive and missed a lot of integrations. The Gemini still isn’t quite there yet and doesn’t allow you to make a call or drop a text without unlocking your phone, which is quite a limitation. Well, from the looks of it that may soon change. Soon, Gemini, you won’t need to unlock your phone for those tasks.
friends here Android Authority destroyed 15.42.30.28.arm64 beta version of Google appDue to which this information came to light. The most important thing is that there will be a new toggle on/offThis will give users control over whether they want the functionality or not.
Even with the feature turned on, Android Authority notes that Google displays the message, “Gemini will also ask you to unlock when a response includes personal content from apps you use, such as your Gmail messages.”,
Gemini doesn’t handle calls or texts anyway and simply lets the Assistant do the work for you. This discovery states that Gemini will be able to do this even when your phone is locked, which is quite convenient. If I’m already unlocking my phone to ask Gemini to call or text someone, I’d prefer to do it manually anyway. So, this is a very welcome change.
For example, let’s say you’re cooking and your hands are full. In that case, you can easily call Gemini from the lock screen to call or text someone. This is extremely useful if you ask me. However, this is not the only change that has been observed.
The floating Gemini overlay will likely undergo a design change that will make it more minimalist. Currently, we see the entire expanded window at once. According to what the report says, the overlay is now narrow and will expand as you type your prompt.
With Gemini getting support for more and more integrations, it will be quite interesting to see how helpful summoning the AI can be without unlocking the phone. What do you think about this? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
