After Gen V’s first season premiered on Prime Video, it moved on to carving out its own identity apart from The Boys. Although a few stars from Gen V made brief cameos in Season 4 of The Boys, Gen V fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Season 2. Season 2 of Gen V will see the return of many Godolkin University supes, including Marie Moreau and Cate Dunlap. Discover everything there is to know about Gen V, including the cast, plot, anticipated release date, and more, by continuing to read.
When Will Gen V Season 2 Release
There is no confirmation yet regarding the release date of the second season of Gen V. However, we can evaluate based on season 1’s release schedule and the current status of production. Thus, Gen V Season 2 is expected to be released during 2025, around June 2025 at the moment.
After the immense success of Gen V’s debut season, Amazon automatically renewed the show for a second season. The cast and crew were immediately gathered again to begin the shooting works for season 2 earlier this year. However, due to the unfortunate demise of Chance Perdomo (who played the role of Andre Anderson), they had to defer the current production.
Current Production Status of Gen V Season 2
A couple of days before The Boys season 4’s finale, the official X account of Gen V shared an update with the fans with a picture of ‘Jaz Sinclair’ (Marie Moreau) in a Godolkin University hoodie. The post mentioned, “Class is in session,” stating that the cast has returned for the recommencement of Gen V season 2’s shooting work.
What Will be the Cast of Gen V Season 2
The talented cast who donned the roles of young supes in the first season will return for the show’s much grander second season:
- Jaz Sinclair as ‘Marie Moreau’
- Derek Luh & London Thor as ‘Jordan Li’
- Maddie Phillips as ‘Cate Dunlap’
- Asa Germann as ‘Sam Riordan’
- Lizze Broadway as ‘Emma Meyer’
- Alexander Calvert as ‘Rufus’
- Maia Jae Bastidas as ‘Justine’
- Patrick Schwarzenegger as ‘Golden Boy’ (in flashbacks likely)
According to the latest report from Variety, Hamish Linklater (known for The Big Short, Midnight Mass) has officially joined the cast of Gen V and will play the role of “Cipher.” Here is a brief introduction to his character in Gen V season 2:
The charismatic and charming newly-appointed Dean of Godolkin University. Trained as a scientist, he’s politically brilliant, and has the trust and admiration of officials at the highest level.
Furthermore, after the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo, the producers of the show have affirmed that his character will not be recast in the upcoming seasons to honor his memory. As production is underway, the creators have decided to rework season 2’s narratives to adjust Andre Anderson’s character instead.
What Could be the Plot of Gen V Season 2
At the moment, there is no concrete information about the storyline of Gen V’s season 2. At the end of season 1, Cate Dunlap and Sam Riordan were heralded as “The New Guardians of Godolkin University.” Our main protagonist group, including Marie Moreau, Jordan Li, Emma Meyer, and Andre Anderson, were trapped inside a room that conceptually looked eerily similar to “The Woods.” Thus, we can expect season 2 to cover the escape plan of our new supes team and how they are going to get back to their normal lives.
As I mentioned earlier, Cate and Sam have made brief appearances in season 4 of The Boys. Thus, similar to season 1, we can look forward to some of the celebrities from the main Boys’ universe appearing in season 2. There is a high chance that Zoey (Victoria Neuman’s daughter) will appear in Gen V season 2 as she was sent to Red River after her mother’s death.
