George Stephanopoulos saw the Bennifer 2.0 breakup coming.
The TV host, 63, predicted Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce the day after their wedding in 2022, according to his former “Good Morning America” co-anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach.
On Wednesday’s episode of their “Amy & T.J.” podcast, the couple recalled how they were on the set of “GMA” with Stephanopoulos, 63, the day after Affleck, 52, and Lopez, 55, tied the knot.
They weren’t clear about if it was after the exes’ Las Vegas wedding in July 2022 or their Georgia nuptials in August 2022.
“You came in and you were like, ‘This is such a great story. 17 years in the making,’ ” Robach, 51, said to Holmes, 47, adding that, at the time, they thought of Lopez and Affleck’s relationship as a “fairytale.”
“We were excited, like genuinely happy for the two of them,” Robach shared. “George Stephanopoulos, however, rolled his eyes and said, ‘I give it six months,’ or something to that effect.”
“I mean, it was probably the correct way to look at it,” Robach added.
Holmes, however, didn’t agree with Stephanopoulos’ cynicism of Affleck and Lopez’s relationship.
“We talk about everybody loves a love story, but then we have a very difficult time being happy for people who are in love,” he said. “That turns us off to see somebody else so happy.”
“And then we get so invested and almost there’s glee in someone else’s demise and that pain,” Holmes continued. “Somebody who said, ‘I’ll give it six months,’ might be [saying now], ‘I told you.’ We can sit back and say, ‘Ha ha.’ I hate that mindset.”
The Post reached out to Stephanopoulos, Affleck and Lopez’s reps for comment.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck exactly two years to the day since their Georgia wedding ceremony.
She listed their official date of separation as April 26, 2024, which was shortly before the rumors of their split started when Lopez attended the Met Gala by herself.
Affleck had no interest in fixing his marriage to Lopez, which sparked her decision to file for divorce, according to People.
Per Page Six, a source claimed their relationship issues actually began on their honeymoon in Lake Como, Italy.
“They would barely speak to each other during what was supposed to be the happiest time of their life,” the insider said. “He sold her on him being a changed man, and that lasted a very short time.”
During their podcast episode, Holmes said that he texted Robach shortly after 3:00 a.m. to break the news about Affleck and Lopez.
“I messaged you, ‘Good morning. I am so sad. First thing on my phone is about J. Lo filing for divorce,’ ” he said.
Holmes and Robach — who were fired from “GMA” in January 2023 for their secret affair — both called the Bennifer divorce “heartbreaking.”
“It just sucks, man,” said Holmes. “This was it. This was one I could look at and go, ‘You know what, the timing wasn’t right … and then finally, the time is right, and this is it, and this is gonna work.’ “
He added: “Damn, I was rooting for them.”
