GQ’s Holi Playlist for 2024 is celebrity-approved. While Rang Barse will almost definitely be blaring on loudspeakers across the country all weekend, it’s time to expand this year’s personal mixtape. To help you curate an edgy and fun tracklist for your Holi party and afterparty, we asked a host of celebrities and musicians to weigh in with their certified favourites. While pop icon Armaan Malik leaned more towards the traditional hits, Anuv Jain, India’s buzziest new indie musician, listed a more eclectic range of songs — each track or artist having a bit of colour to their name.

“Since it’s the festival of colours, my Holi playlist needs to have songs that have a bit of colour in them,” says Anuv Jain, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter from Ludhiana. His recent single Husn clinched the top spot, becoming the number one song in India according to Spotify charts and Apple Music India. It has over 123 million views on Spotify.
Jain, one of GQ India’s Most Influential Young Indians in 2023, also shared his favourite Holi memory. “My favourite Holi memory is with my twin sister, back when we used to celebrate the festival as kids. We used to fill balloons with water and throw them at people, and we always managed to get away with it because we looked adorable,” he laughs.
The musician’s top songs for GQ’s Holi playlist include:
- Yellow by Coldplay
- Red (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift
