At a minimum, each week you should do three hours of weight training and three hours of some type of cardiovascular exercise. You only need six hours a week and you can divide it to suit your schedule.
There was a lot of discussion online about your increasing weight in 2017. How did you stay positive despite trolling?
I wasn’t living in denial; If I was overweight, I was overweight. And I knew the reasons why I was like that. But if you give too much importance to external validation, it will break you. People will have opinions – some good, some helpful, some intelligent, and some downright mean. You have to accept it as it is and do what is within your control. If someone has a lot to say, just give them the middle finger. [Laughs.]
How would you feel about your children becoming actors?
My 11 year old daughter is very inclined towards art. She loves singing, dancing and performing. One day, my 7-year-old son was asked at school what he wanted to do when he grew up. He said that he wants to become an actor like his father. [Smiles.] If they choose to stay in my profession, that would make me very happy. But it is not easy…it is a very expensive business.
How do you envision the next 10 years of your life?
I want to be the best father in the whole world. I’ve had terrible adolescence myself. [Laughs.] So I want to help my kids find themselves. Professionally, I am in my second or third innings of acting. I am looking forward to roles that are more age appropriate. I am also keen to produce and before I turn 60 I am definitely going to direct.
