Australian singer Guy Sebastian has revealed he has taken his last chair sound …for now.
He revealed on Wednesday that he is leaving the Seven Network’s singing competition show to focus on writing and his performing musicHe said.
“I’ve decided to take a break from the best red chair on the planet. It’s been six amazing years as a coach and this has honestly been the best one yet!” he said in a statement on Instagram.

“I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the show, and it has been a pleasure to share the panel with such amazing coaches.
“It is a privilege to guide the next wave of Australian talent alongside amazing teams and crew @channel7 , @itvstudiosaus,
“The best thing about the show is how positive it is and how much care and passion goes into making it a safe space for artists.”
The beloved Voice coach revealed that he will be focusing on his creative projects first. “For me right now, it’s time to focus more on my core, which is writing and performing new music,” he said. “I’ve been busy planning shows in Australia and around the world and I’m really I look forward to going there and connecting with all of you. “For a very long time, I have been reading your comments asking when I would visit your city/country and now the time has come for me to come and visit!”
Sebastian revealed that he had been working on his new album in the background for years, and is hoping to now be able to give the work his full attention.
He wrote, “I’ve worked on this upcoming album for four years and I’ve put everything I have into it, so I have to respect that effort and the art I’ve created.”
But he was warned about his replacement on The Voice.
“Whoever has the audacity to take my chair should not get too comfortable… I will fight for it with zero dignity when I am ready to return.”

New coach on The Voice
Seven Network’s chief content officer, Brook Hall, offered the network’s best wishes to the late star.
Hall said, “Guy has been a powerhouse coach for The Voice on Seven.”
“His mentorship and command of artistry has been inspiring to our voice artists and viewers, as well as the production team and everyone at Seven.
“We thank Guy for his unwavering passion and positive energy on set, and wish him all the best with the release of his new album and his live shows next year.”
Hall revealed that The Voice fans won’t have to wait long to find out who will replace Sebastian on the coaching panel.
“Our full coaching line up for the 2025 season of The Voice will be revealed in the coming months,” he said.
