The Harris-Walz campaign touted a $36 million fundraising haul in the 24 hours after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was unveiled as her VP pick.
That’s significantly higher than the $26 million President Biden’s team claimed to have raked in during the same period after announcing Kamala Harris as the 2020 vice presidential nominee.
Harris’ presidential campaign posted eye-bulging July fundraising numbers last week, claiming to have pulled in $310 million across its committees during that month.
That was more than double the $138.7 million Trump’s team touted for July across its committees.
It is unclear how much cash the Trump campaign drew in the 24-hour period after Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) was announced as the vice presidential pick last month during the Republican National Convention.
The Post contacted the Trump campaign for comment.
Within less than a week of Biden dropping out and endorsing Harris, her team amassed $200 million worth of donations, according to her campaign.
Per the publicly touted numbers from the campaigns, Trump’s team had $327 million cash on hand while Harris’ team had a $377 million war chest at the end of July.
That includes the fundraising haul from the campaigns, aligned committees and party committees.
Harris announced Walz as her pick Tuesday before debuting him on the campaign trail during a Philadelphia rally.
She had reportedly considered a bevy of other top Democrats such as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D), Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D), Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and others.
Harris and Walz are embarking on a swing through battleground states this week, including stops in Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada.
Thus far, she has generally appeared to draw much more sizeable crowds than Biden garnered prior to his withdrawal, purportedly including over 14,000 in Philadelphia.
Her campaign is now doing crowd comparisons against Trump, touting that as well as her monster campaign cash machine as evidence she has momentum at her back.
