Here’s everything about Mathias Boe, the former Badminton player who’s marrying Taapsee Pannu


Wedding bells are ringing for Taapsee Pannu and her longtime partner Mathias Boe. The actor, who recently starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki is all set to tie the knot with the Danish badminton player and coach at the end of March in Udaipur, NDTV reports. The ceremony is expected to sport a blend of Sikh and Christian cultural traditions, and in the spirit of keeping it intimate, will be attended by family and close friends only.

Taapsee Pannu first met Boe over a decade ago, when she was making her Bollywood debut with Chashme Baddoor (2013) and the pair have been together since. Speaking about her 10-year-long relationship with content creator Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel, she said: “I am with the same person since the past ten years, I started acting 13 years back and I met him the year I was making my debut in Bollywood. And I have been with the same person since then. And I have no thoughts of leaving him or being with anyone else because I am way too happy in the relationship”.

Boe, a silver medalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2013 World Championships – Men’s double, is currently coaching the India national badminton team for men’s doubles. Although he retired as a professional badminton player at the age of 39, he continues to be a prominent force within the sport. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

Mathias Boe was born in Denmark on 11 July 1980. After making his international debut in badminton in 1998, he rose to the position of world No. 1 in doubles. In 2012, Boe and frequent collaborator Carsten Mogensen achieved a milestone in their professional careers by bagging the silver medal at the London Olympics. The same pair won the silver at the 2013 World Championships – Men’s doubles which took place in China.
