Like his parents, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani too holds the family’s traditional values in high regard. In 2023, after six years of dating, the Reliance heir proposed to Radhika Merchant at the Shrinathji Temple, according to Vogue. The temple is located in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, which is a holy site on the banks of the Banas River.
After their formal engagement ceremony, the newly engaged couple hosted a dinner with their parents, siblings and grandparents. Unsurprisingly, this wasn’t the only engagement celebration. When Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant returned to Antilia — Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai — a surprise engagement party was held with their extended family and friends also in attendance. Talking about Anant Ambani’s proposal and the celebrations that followed, Radhika shared with Vogue, “It was, unquestionably, the best night of my life.”
Meanwhile, during their first pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, Gujarat, Anant Ambani had revealed to India Today that he was averse to the idea of marriage before meeting Radhika Merchant: “I am lucky (to have her) for sure. She is the person of my dreams. Since childhood, I had thought that I would never get married because I was always devoted to taking care of animals. But when I met Radhika, I saw her sharing the same values as me. She has this sense of giving and nurturing towards animals.”
