Amitabh Bachchan currently resides in Jalsa, the iconic bungalow in Juhu, Mumbai, with his wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The palatial 10,125 sq ft property is currently valued between Rs 100-120 crore, according to Times of India. If you’re curious to know how much you’d have to shell out to be Big B’s neighbour, we have you covered…

Here’s how many crores you’ll have to splurge to be Amitabh Bachchan’s neighbour:

A bungalow neighbouring Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa is set to be auctioned, according to MoneyControl. Deutsche Bank has put the bungalow under auction with a reserve price of Rs 25 crore while the EMD amount is Rs 2.50 crore. The property is spread across 1,164 sq ft, and has an open space of 2,175 sq ft.

According to MoneyControl and real estate experts, banks tend to sell properties via auction at a 15-30% discounted price as compared to the market price, which benefits prospective buyers as they can get a good purchase deal. Hence, a bungalow similar to the one being auctioned by Deutsche Bank would reportedly cost between Rs 35-40 crore in the market.

Interesting facts about Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Jalsa

For the unversed, Jalsa was a gift to Amitabh Bachchan by veteran producer Ramesh Sippy. According to the Times of India, Sippy was enamoured by the legendary superstar’s work in Satte Pe Satta and gave him this valuable present.

Jalsa is also a cultural landmark for hardcore Bollywood fans as Amitabh Bachchan is known to have meet and greets outside his home, every Sunday as a ritual whenever the actor is in Mumbai. Hundreds of fans from India and across the globe station outside Jalsa to catch a glimpse of the legendary superstar.

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan — who has a colossal net worth of Rs 3,190 crore, according to CNBC TV18 — purchased a plot in Ayodhya. The 10,000 sq ft land is worth Rs 14.5 crore and is located at The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), according to Hindustan Times. The 81-year-old actor plans to build a home on this plot of land.
