At first glance, there isn’t much connecting the big Moby Dick Range Rover to the Tiger, but there is JLR India Has succeeded in making weak connections stronger. The Range Rover Ranthambore Edition is the first limited edition Range Rover produced exclusively for the Indian market. To do this, the brand incorporated its “SV Bespoke” division, which does pretty much what its name suggests – customize Range Rovers with hand-crafted paint jobs and a number of bespoke visual flourishes.
The SV Bespoke division essentially opens up a world of customization options for the customer with a variety of interior trims, wheel inserts, mirror caps etc. Although it may be elusive, it is not unlike the creature it takes inspiration from. The Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition remains with more light colored paint, but it makes a bigger splash. Figuratively and literally, since it has a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 that produces 395 bhp and 550 Nm of power, which makes it quite fast, it is priced at Rs 4.98 crore (ex-showroom).
The Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition takes a top-of-the-line Range Rover SV and adorns it with a unique deep black body color with red gloss effect. A mix of colors that pays homage to the colors of the tiger, with a little creative freedom. There are also Corinthian Bronze and anthracite accents bordering the grille, which outline the bumper and highlight the SV’s signature vertical streak down the front doors.
Then there’s the interior, where the upholstery gets a custom embroidered finish, contrast stitching and a unique “Perlino semi-aniline” leather trim with three horizontal stripes on the backrests on each of the four seats, as if clawed by a tiger. Be. However, upon looking closer, the stripes are more detailed and, according to the brand, are inspired by the “spine” of a tiger. An additional set of leather-clad scatter cushions, a powered club table, along with deployable cupholders and a refrigerated compartment that houses SV-etched glassware complete the list of exclusive features that this limited edition model is endowed with . A total of 12 versions have been built (many of which have already been mentioned), and each model has its own number inscribed on “SV Bespoke” branded trade plates.
Nevertheless, the references are not so common that non--Wildlife Enthusiasts, no matter who they are. More importantly than any visual tribute to the country’s national animal, Range Rover will donate a portion of the proceeds from each vehicle sale to the Wildlife Conservation Trust of India.
