How to Find Lost AirPods Case

If you’ve lost your AirPods case with at least one AirPod inside it, you can easily locate any AirPods model using the Find My app and iCloud. Bear in mind that you can find your lost or stolen AirPods only if you’ve set up Find My before your AirPods go missing. If you’ve done that, proceed to track your AirPods case.

Method 1: Using Find My App

You can easily find your AirPods case using the Find My app on your Apple device. The process is simple and gets done in a few taps. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Launch the Find My app and go to the Devices tab from the bottom.
2. Select your AirPods.  You’ll now see the current or last known location of your AirPods case.
3. If your AirPods case is lost nearby like your home or office, and is connected to Bluetooth, tap on Find Nearby to find your missing AirPods case. You can also tap on Play Sound to make your AirPods ring audibly.
4. You can tap on Directions to get instructions to locate your AirPods case in Apple Maps.
5. In case, the app says “No Location Found”, your AirPods case can no longer be tracked.

Method 2: Using iCloud

Apart from Apple devices, you can also track your lost AirPods case using an Android smartphone or a Windows PC. For this, you have to log into your iCloud account using a web browser. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Open iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID credentials. Make sure to use the same Apple ID to which your lost AirPods are linked.
2. Click on All Devices and select your AirPods from the list of devices.
3. This will show the current or last known location of your AirPods on the map.

How to Find AirPods Case with No AirPods Inside

There can be instances when you’ve lost your AirPods case without pods. If you own an AirPods Pro 2nd-generation, you can easily find the lost AirPods case with no AirPods inside it. The AirPods Pro 2 boasts a U1 chip and the case has a speaker which makes it possible to track the case. Sadly, other AirPods models don’t have a speaker in the case, so you can’t find the AirPods case if it doesn’t have at least one earbud in it.

1. Open the Find My app on your paired iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
2. Now, go to the Devices tab from the bottom and locate your AirPods from the list. If the case doesn’t have either earbud, your AirPods will say “Outside of case”
3. Tap on your AirPods. The app will now show you the individual locations of your AirPods Case, Left Bud, and Right Bud.
4. Select Case and then tap on Find or Directions to track your AirPods case.
5. You can also tap on Play Sound to make it easier to find your AirPods case when you’re in close proximity.

Get a New AirPods Case

If you can’t find your AirPods case, you can buy a replacement case through the Apple Support website or app. You can replace your single AirPod (left or right AirPod) or a Charging Case for a fee.
