Autumn enthusiasts can take their passion one step further by turning it into a side job.
Personal Finance Forum FinanceBuzz Trader Joe's is looking to hire a “pumpkin spice pundit” to taste-test its autumn food products.
Munch said he's looking for someone to taste and evaluate the retailer's “autumn-inspired Pumpkin Palooza foods.”
The person will be tasked with rating more than 20 pumpkin-flavored food and drink products, such as pumpkin waffles and pumpkin-spice ginger brew.
FinanceBuzz will use ratings to help shoppers decide which food items to budget on and which ones to skip.
The pumpkin spice pundit will receive $1,000 for the effort, as well as a $500 Trader Joe's gift card to cover the cost of the meal.
“Groceries are an essential part of everyone's budget – and usually account for a large portion of monthly expenses,” FinanceBuzz says on its website.
“It's frustrating when you go out to buy a new food item, and you end up disappointed.”
FinanceBuzz is not affiliated with any Or backed by Trader Joe's — but they're “big fans” of their seasonal items, spokesperson Chris Lewis told Fox Business.
Though dozens of new food products are released each year, Lewis points out that not everyone's budget can have room for them all.
“Pumpkin season is a huge obsession for some people, so we wanted to find a true superfan to critique this year's autumn lineup and help our readers shop,” they wrote in a statement.
“This is a serious job posting. If you're someone who cares about pumpkin season, has a good sense of taste, and is up for having some fun as autumn approaches, we want to hear from you.”
Interested applicants must be over 18 years of age and reside near a Trader Joe’s in the US.
Pandit will be expected to take a photo of each autumn-inspired item — purchasing one of each — and then rating each product on a number of criteria, including difficulty of preparation, taste and more.
Applications can be submitted before the Sept. 10 deadline at financebuzz.com/pumpkin-side-hustle.
