The diet plan Hrithik Roshan followed to get into shape for Fighter was, in short, bland and boring. Or, at least, this is how the actor’s personal fitness instructor Kris Gethin describes it. Speaking to India Today, the celebrity trainer, who has also trained Ranveer Singh, John Abraham and more recently, Vicky Kaushal, described Roshan’s fitness journey for the action flick which also stars Deepika Padukone.
According to Gethin, Hrithik Roshan’s diet plan for Fighter included eating about six to seven meals a day, and if he couldn’t consume as many for any reason, it would be substituted as a drink — in the form of a shake.
Other than following this strict diet, the actor would carry out weight training five days a week, do cardio (running, elliptical, stairmaster rower and swimming) once a day, and hit the bed by 9 pm.
The “sacrifice” (as Gethin puts it) paid off. Hrithik Roshan, who plays Shamsher Pathania in the movie, is at his physical best in the movie, which was released in theatres on 25 January. Here’s everything the actor ate in a day while he was prepping for the role.
Hrithik Roshan’s daily diet for Fighter comprised of these 8 food items that helped him get into great shape
1. Egg whites
While this sounds particularly bland, Gethin mentioned that Hrithik’s personal chef Shubham was great at “spicing things up” so the dish was both healthy and tasty. For instance, he would make a burger with grilled chicken breasts, but the buns would be made out of fluffy egg whites. Egg whites are rich in protein and also help build muscle.
