Why revolver isn’t seen on laptop

WILMINGTON, Del. — First son Hunter Biden purchased two firearms on Oct. 12, 2018, when he rolled up to StarQuest Shooters & Survival Supply in his father Joe’s black Cadillac.

One is the .38-caliber Colt Cobra revolver over which the 54-year-old is on trial. The second is a Gamo PT-80 C02 semi-automatic air pistol (which has also been described as a BB gun), according to court records.

While Hunter is not facing charges over the Gamo, the air pistol is recognizable to anyone who has followed The Post’s coverage of “the laptop from hell.”

On Oct. 17, 2018, Hunter Biden flaunted the fugazi firearm while prowling around a swanky hotel room as a nude hooker looked on.

A video freeze-frame of Hunter flaunting the air pistol made the cover of our June 21, 2023, edition, one day after the first son tentatively agreed to a sweetheart plea deal that later fell apart in court.

Gordon Cleveland, the salesman working that day, testified Wednesday that the Gamo lacked the orange tip that firearms of that nature have to alert law enforcement that it’s not lethal.

“It was weird to [store owner Ronald] Palimere that Biden bought both a real and operable gun and then also buy [sic] a BB gun that looks like a real gun,” an FBI interview file featured in court records explained.

On the day of the purchase, Hunter also bought a speed loader, Hornady ammunition (which Cleveland claimed was better suited for personal defense than shooting at a range), a Nebo flashlight, and a Nebo FishFace pocket tool. Hunter paid with $900 in cash and received about $13.19 in change, per Cleveland.

Ultimately, Hunter’s sister-in-law-turned-lover, Hallie Biden, discovered the Colt Cobra in his car and tossed it into a trash bin outside a Wilmington supermarket on Oct. 23, 2018.

An enraged Hunter demanded Hallie go back to the supermarket and fetch the weapon for him, only for her to discover it was no longer there.

The subsequent police investigation turned up ATF Form 4473 — which Hunter had to fill out to purchase the revolver — which asked, “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”

The younger Biden had answered, “No.”

Prosecutors also say they found a “white powdery substance on the defendant’s brown leather pouch” that held the Colt Cobra, according to a court filing earlier this year.

They noted that a “chemist was able to confirm the presence of cocaine residue” on that pouch.

Hunter’s attorneys have questioned whether their client was actually the one who stashed the cocaine there.

Hunter has pleaded not guilty to all three counts related to illegally owning a firearm while addicted to drugs and making false statements denying his addiction.
