Here comes… East?
A wedding turned into a nightmare when the groom’s ex-girlfriend attended his wedding at his invitation – and the bride later accused him of stealing her husband.
36 year old woman, who herself is married. Remembered on Reddit That the two “amicably parted ways” after dating from ages 15 to 18 was only because they chose to attend colleges far away.
“Since college, we’ve kept in touch ‘Facebook familiar’, where we’d wish each other happy birthdays, or congratulate each other on big milestones, but in the 20 or so years since We have had no other contact,” Pre-wrote.
“About a year ago, I saw her engagement post on Facebook and congratulated her.”
A few months later, the now-married 37-year-old messaged her to look forward to life since the glory days of high school and also expressed interest in having a hometown wedding reunion with her and a few other mutual friends.
He accepted the invitation.
Fast forward to the ceremony, she said things were “incredibly normal”, and the old gang from high school “had a great time.”
However, things quickly went south.
The woman wrote, “Sunday morning I woke up to several Facebook messages from my ex-husband’s new wife, bragging about my courage to attend the wedding and how out of all his ex-girlfriends, I was the only one. Who failed the exam.”
“She said that apparently you shouldn’t attend an ex’s wedding unless you’re still clingy to them and how I was planning to steal her new husband.”
The woman first apologized and said that she had just gone to meet old friends, but this was not acceptable to the bride.
“She responded immediately and then said that no sane woman with good intentions would ever think it was okay to attend her ex’s wedding.”
Still apologetic, he messaged his former partner to say that he had no ulterior motive for attending. The man then said the invitation was “sincere” and apologized for straying from his new wife’s path.
“I left it at that, thinking it was a closed case. A few hours later the new wife is messaging me again and complaining about how I’m trying to make her new husband look crazy.
She then sent the screenshots to her ex and decided it would be best to block both of them to avoid any unwanted drama.
Still, hell hath no fury like an angry bride.
“Yesterday I started getting messages from [bride’s] The sister is saying that I have poisoned my ex-husband against his new wife and I should have kept the message to myself,’ the woman added.
,[I’m] It is also being said that I could have avoided all this by knowing ‘I’ [shouldn’t] Attend my ex-wife’s wedding.”
After asking the online community whether she was wrong for taking part, the woman was given a resounding verdict of not guilty.
“Wow, this is bat madness. So you went to the wedding with your husband and he’s your wingman while you’re trying to rekindle your high school relationship… with the groom… on his wedding day?! One said about the thought process of the bride.
Meanwhile, another said it’s a big, late red flag for the newlywed.
“Hopefully it’s not too late to get canceled…his bride is…well, mentally challenged.”
