I bought an abandoned storage unit for $410 — it contained designer clothes worth a whopping $70K

This storage unit turned into a treasure trove.

A man in Portland, Oregon, bought an abandoned storage unit at auction for $410 and was happily surprised to discover it was filled with an estimated $70,000 worth of designer clothes.

Wade Venture, 37, has purchased 400 to 500 storage units in the past and said little comes as a shock.

But this was an exception to that rule.

“It’s rare to find a unit like that in particular, often you find household stuff or trash,” Venture told South West News Service, sharing that he usually donates most of the stuff he finds to charity — until stumbling on this treasure trove.

“People think I’ve been doing this so long I’ve seen everything, but I’ve never found a unit like this before.”

Venture bought the unit on March 27 after seeing only a few pictures taken of the entrance to the unit — so he didn’t know what to expect.

When he began digging through the piles of abandoned stuff, he was beyond excited to find more than 400 pairs of footwear, including brands such as Gucci and Coach, and $8,000 worth of fur coats and other items, many of which still had tags on.

“Normally I find things 30% new and 70%, used but this was all brand new,” he said adding that the previous owner was a particular shopper. “She wasn’t just buying run-of-the-mill stuff; she was shopping at Macy’s and JCPenney.”

He has started re-selling the items — with one coat alone going for $1,500.

The content creator and full-time reseller posts on his social media channels — including @wadesventures on Instagram and on YouTube — to give viewers an inside look into this and his many other finds.

“It’s more than likely she had a shopping problem — people speculated maybe she was keeping it from her husband!” Venture shared.

But one woman’s secret is another man’s treasure.

“It was such an awesome experience, I was so shocked,” he confessed. “Units like this are really rare and special.”
