The two have a relationship through a charity, the EB Research Partnership, which they both support.
The EBRP funds research to find a cure for epidermolysis bullosa, a devastating and life-threatening genetic skin disorder.
Vedder said, “I didn’t really know him as a hero, but since getting to know him he’s become just like me.”
“Jonathan Brown, say hello to people!”
Responding to Caffrey’s photo, one fan laughed at the comparison with Pearl Jam’s New Zealand performance.
“Auckland gets a guest appearance from Neil Finn singing ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me, We Get Brownie’,” the fan wrote on social media.
Pearl Jam will be back in action at Marvel on Monday night.
Grunge legends Pearl Jam return for the Australian leg of their Dark Matter Tour for the first time in a decade.
The band debuted at Carrara Stadium on the Gold Coast, Queensland on Wednesday night, but their performance was delayed by more than an hour due to lightning in the area.
The stage was completed and punters were unable to enter the stadium as a front was passing through the south-east of the state.
The concert, supported by indie rockers The Pixies, is one of Vedder and company’s first shows following the US election.
During the campaign, Vedder and bassist Jeff Ament hosted Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate Doug Emhoff on the band’s streaming radio channel.
While Vedder is known for his progressive views on issues like abortion rights, the election results are truly a dark matter for the Seattle rockers.
