A sex worker has revealed how she has slept with countless married men but doesn’t consider what they do “cheating”.
Sydney woman Katija Cortez is a former accountant who became a sex worker three years ago and said in that time she has slept with many married men.
The exact figure is unknown as it’s considered a “mood killer” to talk about a spouse during a session with a client.
“I would say about 50 percent of my clients are married or in relationships. It’s hard to say for sure though, because I’m sure a lot are in relationships that just don’t bring it up. Other girls have told me that almost all of their clients are married,” Ms Cortez told Daily Mail Australia.
She said that most men don’t consider paying for a sexual encounter cheating, saying they reach out to her as it’s “easier and more discreet” than an affair.
She added that the male escorts she knows say very similar things about the married women they sleep with.
“I don’t like to call it cheating when a married man sees me, because there aren’t any romantic feelings involved. They come to me because they want to laugh, be held, and be pleasured,” she said.
Ms Cortez added that denying someone a service based on their marriage status would be discrimination and none of her clients who have ever spoken badly about their spouse.
If anything, she found it “moving” the way men spoke about their partners.
She said married men paying for her services had nothing to do with a lack of love for their wife and family but for a need for intimacy.
She said she thinks a lot of women don’t realize that men crave intimacy, such as being held, kissed and hugged, just as women do.
Ms Cortez added that wives need to understand that sex workers aren’t proactively finding men but it is the other way around.
She said: “The problems always start in the home. I don’t encourage cheating but I also don’t believe in monogamy either, because I have seen time and time again that truly faithful relationships are rare.”
