I’m a sociopath — here’s my one rule in the bedroom

A 29-year-old woman is helping women be more detached when it comes to dating after sharing with the world that she suffers from antisocial personality disorder.

Kanika Batra Was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). This is colloquially called sociopath. The Brisbane woman was told she had the condition at the age of 21.

Common symptoms include disregard for others, manipulation, and not feeling guilty.

“I was getting a lot of migraines and I tried to end my life because no doctor was taking me seriously when I told them how bad the pain was,” Ms Bathra told news.com.au.

“I reached the hospital. I slept for 15 hours. When I woke up they gave me the option of going to the psych ward or seeing a psychiatrist as an outpatient.”

He chose the second option. The former Miss Universe Australia contestant saw a psychiatrist for 18 months.

They concluded that he had ASPD and a major depressive disorder. He had conduct disorder in his childhood. The behavior he engaged in, such as being criminal and abandoning people, also ticked the box. He said that she fits many criteria.

He described it as an “experience”. She said it helped her risk-taking behavior some. This included becoming bankrupt after going on a trip she could not afford. Another example was traveling abroad to meet someone she had never met before.

Model said that after reading more about it it is hard to see how forensic psychiatrists would come to any other conclusion.

She decided to go online and share her experience.

“This disorder is not only rare. It’s even rarer when it’s a woman,” she said.

“If a woman exhibits any characteristic it is automatically assumed that she has borderline personality disorder.”

She has no mood swings and said her emotions pass quickly, often within an hour. She feels happiness and excitement, but emotions like anger are stronger. Ms Batra said there is “not much beneath the surface” but this allows them to be chameleons and fit into different settings.

It also has some negative aspects. He said he is often not believed because of his diagnosis. Psychiatrists often refuse to treat people with ASPD because of their tendency to lie. People didn’t believe him when terrible things were done to him. He has been accused of lying to get sympathy because of his diagnosis.

This is why she has been so vocal about what she has gone through. She is asked countless questions about whether she experiences emotions and whether she feels love. People often ask him for dating advice. So, she is now writing a book to put it all in one place.

“I received a lot of emails and messages asking me what a sociopath would do in these scenarios,” he said.

“How not to get attached so quickly, how not to exploit their empathy and how to avoid abuse tactics like gaslighting and nagging, which is what is happening in the modern dating world.”

She says that women often get attached to men quickly. He said that it is not necessary so soon. They often get injured in this process. Ms Batra said she was teaching women to “date like a sociopath”. She said she doesn’t want women to form emotional bonds until men show they respect their time and commitment.

He said, “Fellow sociopaths – men – go for particular women who are vulnerable and exhibit some trauma that is associated with things they can exploit.”

“So I also share the negatives about how sociopaths date and how it’s completely transactional.”

Ms Batra describes her dating life as “serial monogamy”.

“But, when I’m dating, I usually date three to four people at the same time,” she said.

Although she won’t sleep with them. Ms Batra, who is bisexual, said sex involves many risks such as emotional attachment, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

“I personally don’t get into it unless I’m in a committed relationship and I feel comfortable enough to be in that situation.”
