Kris Kristofferson had a special friendship with Taylor Swift.
country star, who Died on Saturday at the age of 88Befriended Swift, 34, in the early years of her career, before she became a mainstream pop star.
In 2010, both musicians were at the annual All for the Hall concert benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Swift, who was 20 at the time, was on stage at the event, which honored Kristofferson as well as Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill and Lionel Richie.

The pair also attended the 2009 Country Music Association Awards together.
Kristofferson presented Swift with the award for Female Vocalist of the Year. The “Style” singer hugged Kristofferson while accepting the award.
Two and a half years before his death, Kristofferson shared his first instagram postWhich was perfect considering his friendship with Swift.
The Valentine’s Day 2022 post showed a photo of the two at a Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum event in 2010, both making a heart sign with their hands.
“There’s no better way to kick off Chris’s official @instagram account than this photo of him and @taylorswift at the @officialcmhof ‘All for the Hall’ concert benefit in 2010! #HappyValentinesDay,” the caption read.
Swift has not yet publicly responded to the news of Kristofferson’s death.
The beloved “For the Good Times” singer died over the weekend surrounded by his family. No cause of death has been given.
His family, including his wife Lisa and their eight children, said, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 28.” in a statement to Diversity,
“We are all so lucky to have had the time we spent with him. Thank you for loving him all these years, and when you see the rainbow, know he’s smiling down on us all,” the statement said.
Christopherson announced his retirement In 2021. A statement released by his management at the time revealed that the artist had gradually stepped away from the spotlight.
Following Kristofferson’s death, some celebrities have paid tribute to him, including ‘A Star Is Born’ co-star Barbra Streisand.
Streisand, 82, shared a photo of the pair’s 1976 album cover from the Oscar-winning film, as well as a recent photo of the two together on stage.
He wrote, “The first time I saw Chris perform at L.A.’s Troubadour Club I knew he was something special.” on Instagramadding that Kristofferson was the “perfect choice” to be the leading man in the film.
She also recalled their reunion at her concert in London’s Hyde Park in 2019, where she sang “Lost Inside of You” from “A Star Is Born”.
