Would-be grooms have an excuse to have cold feet if they visit one of the world’s most extreme bachelor parties – Towards the North Pole.
Only about 1,000 people visit the area each year, and organizers are confident this trip will be the first reindeer group to reach the North Pole, calling it “an extreme trip for those who want to make history.”
Last Night of Freedom, which specializes in trips for both bachelor and bachelorette parties, is a company offering the new trip.
The five-night Arctic adventure costs $32,000 per person which includes all flights, an expert polar guide, helicopter rides, meals and thermal equipment for -31F.
Temperature at the pole.
The intrepid bachelorette party will fly to Longyearbyen in Svalbard, Norway on Wednesday night where they will be introduced to their guides.
The groom and guests will be treated to a ‘hearty three course meal’ that will include dishes of seal, reindeer and even whale meat.
The next day, the stag party will wash off any hangovers with a crash course in cross-country skiing.
All participants will be given thermal clothing and ‘equipment pack’ which will include extra food, flashlight and emergency flares in case anyone gets lost.
On Friday, the team will make a two-and-a-half-hour flight to base camp at the Barneo Ice Station — about 30 miles from the North Pole.
The snow runways at Barneo are only open for two weeks every April, so reindeer groups are cautioned to plan with this once-in-a-lifetime trip in mind.
Lunch and dinner will be served in a specially designed heated tent, where the groom and guests can prepare for the final push to the pole.
The next morning, the team would be flown in by helicopter and dropped off about three miles from the North Pole.
Participants will complete the final part of the journey to the world’s northernmost point by cross-country ski.
Once there, they will camp overnight and celebrate their mission with caviar and champagne.
The party will also have the chance to build the world’s northernmost snowman and make satellite calls home to family, friends and fiancées.
The next day, the group will return to Longyearbyen by helicopter.
At the end of the epic bachelor party, all participants will be presented with an official North Pole diploma proving they have completed the expedition.
The company’s managing director Matt Mavir said: “There’s nothing else like it on the market for stag groups.”
