New York Gov. Kathy Hochul says Accused murderer Luigi Mangione UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson will be indicted “any day” for the shooting.
“I have confidence in the DA here in Manhattan to make sure that he brings an indictment that will be prosecuted vigorously,” Hochul said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Hochul said she has confidence in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to present a strong case against Mangione, 26, adding that she will issue an extradition warrant as soon as the indictment is passed.
“I want to bring him back here to New York State and run him through our criminal justice system, because that terrible attack happened on our streets, and the people of our city deserve that sense of peace that comes with this criminal.” Is with you.” Was caught and if justice is served he will never see the light of day again.
“You can’t murder a person on the streets of New York. Not now. Never,” she said.
Bragg said Thursday morning that he is confident in his office’s ability to secure an indictment as it presents mounting evidence against Mangione to the grand jury.
“This is clearly a profound, extremely disturbing murder, as we have alleged,” Bragg told ABC 7. “If we don’t believe it’s the same person then we won’t charge that person and we’re good to move on.”
