Jennifer Lopez says being a single parent sometimes makes her question whether she’s “enough” for her twins Max and Emme.
J.Lo, 55, discusses parenting her 16-year-old kids His new film, “Unstoppable,” A sports drama based on the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and made history by winning the 2011 NCAA individual national championship. Lopez plays his mother, Judy Robles.
“I have been a single mother many times in my life, and [I’ve asked,] ‘Am I enough for them?’ he told Entertainment Weekly“And the truth is, all you need is one good parent to love you.”
“You hear it in Anthony’s voice and see what he’s been able to accomplish,” Lopez said of the wrestling champion.
“That’s what the movie gave me: You are enough.”
Robles’ real mother praised Lopez’s performance.
Judy J.Lo “She was really able to understand how I felt – the ups and downs,” she told Entertainment Weekly about her portrayal. “We want to be loved, and we want impossible things to happen. And even when we look at it and we say, ‘But I have to keep trying’ – there’s always a little bit of hope.”
Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony, 56, welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008. The former couple married in 2004, and Anthony filed for divorce in 2012. The couple ended their marriage in 2014.
The ‘Enough’ star is giving priority to spending time with her children these days.
Lopez talked about it during an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” last month Canceling my “This Is Me…Live” tour In May to spend the summer with Max and Emme.
“I decided to take the summer off and stay home with the kids and I think it was the best thing I ever did,” Lopez said on the episode,
“It’s not possible for me to do that and when it comes to this, I’d like to apologize to the fans because I know a lot of them were coming forward,” she said.
Lopez, who is in the middle Divorce from husband Ben Affleck52, also welcomed Affleck’s three children this summer — Violet, 19; spent time with; Seraphina, 15; and Samuel, 12 – whom he shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, 52.
In May, the “On the Floor” singer attended Violet’s High School Graduation Party with Affleck, despite splitting in April. Although Affleck and Lopez spent the summer apart, Violet visited her stepmother in the hamptons In July.
The following month, Lopez was seen taking her stepson Samuel shopping in LA ahead of Affleck’s birthday.
