Jennifer Tilly is talking openly about her divorce.
In Tuesday’s episode “real housewives of beverly hills“The actress opened up on her split from ex-husband Sam Simon, while other women discussed their splits from their ex-husbands.
“It takes a really long time to get over a divorce,” Tilly, 66, said. “My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who [co-created] ‘Simpson.’ It had been seven years since I was married to him. We were together for about 10 years and then when we got divorced, I got a piece of ‘The Simpsons’ in the divorce settlement.
“Nobody knew ‘The Simpsons’ was going to last for a trillion years,” he said, laughing. “Honestly, every day, I say, ‘Thank you Sam!'”
Tilly and Simon were married from 1984 to 1991 “Simpsons” Debuted on Fox in 1989. Simon died of colon cancer in 2015 at the age of 59.
Tilly joined the franchise as a “buddy” for season 14 alongside Bozoma “Boz” St. John.
Talked to the “Chucky” Alum vulture Ahead of the season premiere, she told the outlet that she had always been a “superfan” of the reality show and was eager to step into her new role.
But Tilly also admitted it’s not as glamorous as she thought. What surprised the star the most?
“I remember I said, ‘I live in Beverly Hills, and it would be fun to see Beverly Hills through the lens of really rich people,'” Tilly explained. “I thought I’d bring a lot of people to Rodeo Drive. But most of the filming they do takes place in the Valley, in places where permits are easier to get. So it’s not like you’re arguing about the fanciest locations in Beverly Hills.
He said, “They’re usually arguing at some non-Beverly Hills place because the really fancy, exclusive places don’t want the Housewives yelling at each other in their dining room.”
Tilly revealed that she had turned down the opportunity to join the series in previous years, but this time she decided to take up the “challenge”.
“For me, it’s like working with Martin Scorsese,” she said. “My boyfriend always says that if he got $40 million, he wanted to go to space and experience zero gravity. For me, being on ‘Housewives’ is like experiencing zero gravity. I was more excited to meet Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne and other women than I was to meet Elizabeth Taylor.
And Tilly’s longtime friend Sutton Stracke shared some good advice for her bestie after being on “RHOBH” in Season 10.
,I’m so glad I got to spend more time with Sutton because over the years, since she’s been on ‘Housewives,’ I understand now that it’s so intense and I don’t get a chance to see that much of her. Got as much as I like, Tilly said People in August.
He added, “She’s great because she’s kind of showing me the difficulties because it’s a little intimidating.” “She is an excellent housewife. , [She’s] Very candid, like, ‘You need to do this or you need to do that.'”
Strack, who was standing near Tilly during the interview, chimed in: “No, it’s funny because I worked on Jennifer’s series ‘Chucky.’ I had never done anything like that in my life, so that It was new to me. [her] Come with us, I say, ‘No, no, no, we don’t make the cut. We don’t say action because it’s not scripted – you really just talk.”
